Job Introduction

Are you dynamic and forward thinking, driven by the opportunity to lead and drive strategic change? If so, the Change Delivery Team have an exciting opportunity to join them as a Business Project Manager.

Change Delivery is a fast paced environment that delivers strategic change for the whole of Skipton Building Society.

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the delivery of strategic change projects, making sure that they are delivered in line with our project management processes and methodology. You will ensure that all assigned projects produce the required business outcomes, to the correct standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.

As part of the role we expect you to foster and enhance strong working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues alike by inspiring and engaging. You will consistently role model our Society values and behaviours and you’ll support a high performance culture by challenging, monitoring and supporting best practice within both the Change Delivery team and wider across the Society.

You’ll be expected to work collaboratively with your Business Change and Innovation colleagues on the continued development and deployment of ‘fit for purpose’ but standardised change delivery methodologies and PM practices, and you will act as a change advisor across the Society with respect to Project Management, Process improvement, stakeholder engagement and business change delivery.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a proven experience and acknowledged achievement of performing the role of a Business Project Manager, with successful delivery of multiple business change projects. They will have a proven track record of facilitating decision making with Executive level participants, presenting a case and defending it; and will also have a formal Project Management accreditation, preferably in line with PRINCE2 methodology.

They will possess a proven track record of successfully delivering strategic change focused projects from inception to live operation where quality is paramount. They should be comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently, managing predominantly in-house matrix managed resources and occasionally 3rd parties.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, and will have a history of gaining trust and respect from their own team and business senior management. They will have strong people management skills, excellent communication skills, and experience of presenting to and dealing with Senior Executive level stakeholders.

They will have proven planning skills with the ability to provide evidence of managing change as part of a project or large programme of work, utilising PM planning tools (MSProject, Hydra). They will also have the ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the often disparate members of the project teams. They will be an excellent team player who shares knowledge and expertise freely.

They will be able to demonstrate experience of business case creation, benefit identification, and planning and management; as well as showing a proven track record of practical usage of project management methodology that includes ri sk and issue management competencies.
