Are you a current or aspiring assistant manager in Social Care, wanting to use your experience to provide care that maximises independence and wellbeing?

We are looking for a motivated person who is passionate about providing outstanding care quality for adults with care and support needs. This is unique opportunity to influence the creation of a new home care reablement service which prevents hospital and care home admissions and acts as a provider of last resort.

You will work flexibly across various care settings, delivery approaches and locations in the north of Staffordshire, you will assist the Service Manager by supporting the day-to-day operation of the services.

You will be required to participate in an on-call rota with members from the management team. This will attract additional payment.

Main Responsibilities

This is a full-time role with some travel to services located in the north of the County, you will be expected to work flexibly across the week according to business need.

You will support the Service Manager by supporting the day-to-day operation of services, monitoring and maintaining delivery of an excellent level of care with a multi-disciplinary team, to enable people we support to have a comfortable and dignified life where they are empowered to achieve their ambitions.

  • You will support the service Manager to oversee a CQC regulated Domiciliary service based initially in the North of the County with potential expansion.
  • The role will focus on promoting person-centred practice, overseeing new referrals, people management, recruitment, selection and induction, quality assurance, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • You will manage disciplinary teams including Occupational Therapy, Care co-ordinators, Senior Support Facilitators and Support Facilitators.
The Ideal Candidate

What you will bring

You will have the ability to relate positively to the people that we support, communicating effectively with staff at all levels and building good relationships with other professionals that we work with. You are able to manage, coach and support staff, identifying and monitoring training needs and delivery training, as necessary. You will have the ability to work effectively with others to achieve business plans, agreed targets and performance indicators, and work effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads.

What you will have

  • Relevant level 3 or above qualification in health and social care.
  • Full Driving license and a vehicle with business insurance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of the legislation and regulatory framework affecting vulnerable adults.
  • Knowledge of the personalisation agenda, care planning and reviews and evidence of a commitment to achieving positive, personalised outcomes for individuals.
  • Knowledge of risk management and positive risk taking and experience assessing, managing and migrating risks.
  • Experience in the management in staff, including recruitment and selection, support and supervision and performance management.
  • Experience of working within constraints of legislation , regulation, policy and procedures.
  • Experience of promoting genuine community participation and inclusion for service users.
  • Knowledge of reablement care.
  • Knowledge of Access Care Planning and People planner.
  • Experience in collating performance KPI'S and using excel spreadsheets.
