As a supervisor of our Family Time Workers, you will play a crucial role when it comes to supporting vulnerable children and families in our community, they support children in understanding their birth identity and supervising their time with birth parents.

Main Responsibilities

As the Family Time Supervisor your role is crucial in co ordinating a Family Time rota, ensuring Court directions are maintained and risk assessments are completed by the Social Work Team so that sessions are safe and  positive for the child and family.

You will work closely with the Team Managers of Assessment and Staying Together and Children in Care and Care Leavers.

You will offer supervision in line with the Local Authority’s policy and have line management responsibilities with regard to absence management and your Teams wellbeing.

You need to have oversight of the quality of recording of family time sessions, which can be requested by the courts

The Ideal Candidate

As well as a passion for helping and supporting children and their families you’ll need to have:

· A minimum NVQ 3 in working with children and families or equivalent experience of working with children and families

· Experience in supervisory and line management responsibilities

· Experience contributing to quality assurance of the service

· Experience of direct work with children, their families and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency which provides services to vulnerable children and their families

· Experience in the use of IT including Microsoft packages

· An understanding of child development and the effect of stress and trauma on child development

· An understanding of the key pieces of policy, guidance and legislation which govern children’s social care

· Have access to a vehicle and a driving licence

· Be flexible in your approach to work to support your team
