We are looking for an Internal Verifier to verify the students work on the trades courses. 

It is essential that you have the IV qualifications and a knowledge of working with City and Guilds in the trades courses; namely electrical, joinery and bricklaying

Working on a flexible basis, you will be responsible for verifying the portfolios of learners.

The role is a hybrid role, work can be completed on site at Harrogate College, or be home-based.

What You Will Do
  • Assist Curriculum Area Managers/ Sector Managers and Curriculum Leaders to ensure all staff within each area of responsibility comply with College assessment and Internal Verification policy and procedures.
  • Maintain a central log of current Internal Verifiers by qualifications for area of responsibility.
  • Provide induction and mentoring for new Internal Verifiers to ensure that they are aware of College and Awarding organisations’ assessment and Internal Verification policy and procedures including student appeals and malpractice policy and procedures.
  • Provide support in the development of new QCF qualifications to embed a robust assessment and verification process in the area of responsibility
  • Deliver annual assessment and verification briefing sessions to College staff to share innovative best practice.
  • Implement the College’s course approval procedures to meet the requirements of awarding organisations including representing the quality improvement service on validation panels when required
About You
  • You will be self-motivated and have a passion for excellence.
  • You will have experience as an Assessor and a Verifier
  • You will have a keen eye for detail and be able to provide feedback to teachers regarding students' portfolios
  • The ideal candidate will work well as part of a team and be resilient, adaptable and enthusiastic with experience of the industry
  • We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and would be happy working with people as well as being able to work independently when required
