The successful candidate will be required to assist a qualified Craftsperson with general site work associated with the repair, maintenance and construction of underground cables. Progression opportunities may be available for someone who demonstrates a desire to learn and undertake new tasks. This will be dependent on business need.
Our operational teams work to keep the lights on for our customers. They maintain a 24/7 function and ensure customers get a helpful, responsive service when they call about anything - from faults and maintenance to asset replacement or new connections.
Working on the frontline in all weathers, day and night, they are vital to keeping our customer promises.
They don’t just get the lights back on as quickly as possible. They’re working behind the scenes and around the clock to continuously maintain and upgrade the electricity network across the Midlands, South Wales and the South West.Main Responsibilities
The work involves being away from the depot, working in and around the Nottingham West area, often in a team of two people. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively and responsibly. You will also need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives.
The Ideal Candidate
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys the demands of a physical outdoor environment.
You will need to be mobile throughout the area and you may also be required to undertake out of hours standby duties, therefore a full driving license is desirable.
Some electrical experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given.
The successful candidate is required to hold a GCSE Grade A*-G/1-9 in English or Functional Skills Level 2 English qualification.
