Construction Business Development Manager – Sustainable Energy

£44,632 - £47,540 per annum, plus excellent benefits package

37 hours per week based across Nottingham City

Contract type: 12 month fixed term contract/secondment

We are looking to appoint a Construction Business Development Manager for our Sustainable Energy team. This is a new role within an expanding team and is a pivotal role which provides a fantastic opportunity for you to help shape our organisation, whilst offering enormous variety, scope and responsibility to lead, develop, and promote new construction and sustainable energy opportunities for the Company. 


In this role you will lead on contractor delivery, as the Principle Contractor, for the Destination Zero Energy Retrofit project and through this project take responsibility for developing an options appraisal for the insourcing of the delivery of energy efficiency works. You will have responsibility for planning the works, procuring and placing orders with suppliers (where required), developing programmes and sharing these with relevant stakeholders and suppliers, and then managing the quality of the suppliers work.


In order to succeed in this post, you will need to take a strong partnership approach to managing the Suppliers, and their teams, as well as supporting with a joint recruitment procedure and ensuring teams are successfully brought in house at the end of the project.  This could involve exploring new models of delivery to apply beyond the end of the project, such as franchising, or joint ventures.


Your commercial acumen and knowledge within construction and/or sustainable energy, tendering, bid writing, and financial business modelling within a construction environment will all support you in achieving success within this position. Having clear and confident communication skills, with a flexible approach to problem solving and providing excellent value for money solutions, will also be key to your success.
