Post: Occupational Therapy Assistant
Base: New Dawn Ward, Beckton Hospital.
Responsible for: The post holder will work on an allocated ward with a qualified occupational therapist. The role also involves contribute to the service development of the wider service.
Responsible to: Head OT
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Beckton Hospital, East London.

Overview of site/Ward: New Dawn Ward is a female personality disorder ward at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. New Dawn Ward strives to improve service users’ wellbeing, reduce risk and facilitate individual return to optimal functioning to fully engage in their recovery.
You do not need experience in personality disorder services to apply for this role; however a willingness to learn new skills.
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant the role involves planning and implementing activities as a therapeutic medium under the guidance of a qualified occupational therapist. The post holder will be offered support and guidance to utilise standardised assessments and implement structured groups.
In this role you will work within a MDT team to support recovery and rehabilitation for service users on New Dawn ward.
