This is a great opportunity to join a team that influences Skipton’s key commercial and strategic decisions. As our new Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in driving financial performance and achieving our Corporate Strategy, influencing key decisions and providing robust finance business partnering support to a wide range of stakeholders up to Executive Board level. It is a role that’s bursting with potential for a candidate who’s highly motivated, loves to learn and is keen to progress their career.
This is your chance to influence the decisions that affect our customers, from product pricing to setting interest rates. You’ll provide financial insight through analysis and business reporting and encourage all levels of stakeholder to see the value in the information you deliver. Be prepared to use your powers of persuasion to challenge, justify, negotiate and influence.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do at Skipton, and you’ll need to find a balance between the best outcomes for them and the interests of the business. You’ll be proactive in identifying opportunities that drive performance and use your knowledge and expertise to highlight risks that might conflict with our strategic aims.
This is a busy role with time pressures and deadlines, so balancing conflicting priorities will be part of your day-to-day. The business will be relying on you for month end plans that are accurate and on time.
You will be supported by your leader and the wider business partnering team. A structured scheme is also in place to help with personal development and progression, ideal for individuals with a desire to make a difference and to take ownership. Supported study towards a professional qualification is also available.
Analytical and people skills are equally important to this role. We’re looking for someone with commercial acumen and a curiosity to challenge and ask questions that bring meaning to your outputs and analysis. You will be comfortable taking individual initiative and working in a non-structured environment not driven by process. An ability to forge great working relationships is essential, built on the Society’s values of Trust, Ownership and One Team.
