This is part of the REMOURBAN EU funded project, which has received recognition across Europe for its innovation in technical solutions and business models. We have recently been awarded an ERDF grant to roll out the Energiesprong model to 155 more homes and more recently Interreg NWE funding to develop the Energiesprong model for low rise apartments and BEIS funding to ensure we are further reducing the cost of deep whole house retrofit. This is all intended to help us realise the Nottingham City Council commitment to be carbon neutral by 2028.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Programme Manager to join our Energy team, based at our Bilborough office. Reporting in to the Head of Energy, we are looking for someone who can take full oversight of the programme of energy projects, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and internal objectives.
This is a critical role and we will look to you to lead on developing a thorough methodology for reporting and supporting projects to successful completion and grant draw down. Much of Nottingham’s deep retrofit is partly funded by grant and it is essential that the full amount of grant income is realised, so we require you to liaise between the funders and the project teams and Senior Management, flag any risks, and with the delivery team, put in place mitigation strategies to ensure that the projects are successfully delivered.
You will be able to develop work plans and programmes, and then manage and monitor against these to ensure that the programmes are being achieved and to flag where there are delays. You will be able to understand sufficiently the technical innovations in the projects, in order that you can have conversations with funders and the delivery team about challenges and solutions.
This role is responsible for reporting in to the Council Housing Energy Efficiency Programme Board and you will be expected to communicate with a range of stakeholders across NCH, the City Council and more widely.
We are looking for someone with a solid background in programme management, in particular experience of working on grant funded projects, and EU funding ideally. We need a great communicator, who is delivers accurate and clear reports. We would particularly welcome applications from people who are passionate about innovation and helping Nottingham to achieve our commitment to be carbon neutral by 2028.
In exchange you can expect a rewarding professional career where personal development is actively encouraged and supported. We offer exceptional company benefits within a very people focused business environment as well as a modern working environment with a strong emphasis on work life balance.
