Rethink Mental Illness are looking for a Statutory Advocate to join our County Durham Advocacy Service on a Zero Hour Contract.
Advocacy is about taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain the service they want.
County Durham Advocacy Service provides Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA), Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) and Care Act Advocacy support to those requiring it across the Durham area.
As an Advocate you will be working with people who are deemed to lack capacity to make serious decisions which are life changing. You will also be working with people who are placed under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) where you will need to understand the (MCA) Mental Capacity Act, (MHA) Mental Health Act and also (HRA) Human Rights Act.
