Security Officer

Location: Walls Ice Cream, Barnwood, Gloucester, GL4 3BW
Working Hours: 56 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £13.45
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time
Shift Pattern: Rotating days and nights — 3 days, 4 nights, 3 off; then 4 days, 3 nights, 4 off.

Job Introduction

As a Security Officer at Sodexo, based at Walls Ice Cream in Gloucester, you’ll help maintain a safe and secure environment for colleagues, contractors and visitors. Your attention to detail, professional approach and previous security experience will help protect the people and premises on site.

Role Responsibility

• Carry out security patrols, identifying and reporting potential risks or suspicious activity.

• Support access control, ensuring visitors and contractors follow site procedures.

• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies in line with site instructions.

• Maintain accurate security records and provide clear shift handovers.

• Deliver a professional and helpful service to everyone on site.

• Work closely with the Security Manager and colleagues to maintain security standards.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a security role.

• A professional, reliable and observant approach.

• Clear communication skills and confidence when dealing with colleagues and visitors.

• The ability to remain calm and follow procedures under pressure.

• Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

• Availability to work the rotating day and night shift pattern.
