HVAP Shift Supervisor

London, NW16AA

Engineer a brighter future.

We are looking for an experienced and technically capable HVAP Shift Supervisor to join our engineering team at a prestigious Central London site.

This is a key role within the site’s technical operations, providing shift-based engineering support and ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of critical building services.

You will be a proactive, dependable and customer-focused engineering professional who leads by example, taking ownership of shift operations and overseeing planned, reactive and corrective maintenance activities.

You will support and develop the engineering team, manage subcontractors and make sound technical decisions to ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest professional standards. Strong communication skills, resilience and resourcefulness will be essential to maintaining excellent service delivery.

Join our team and play a key role in delivering excellence and innovation in Hard FM and Technical Facilities Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate planned, reactive and corrective maintenance activities across the site.

  • Ensure critical building services and client equipment operate safely and reliably.

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs within your technical competence.

  • Prioritise work orders and liaise with the Helpdesk, end users and management to ensure effective delivery.

  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure all work meets Sodexo engineering standards and industry best practice.

  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work procedures and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO).

  • Maintain appropriate Authorised Person (AP) and Competent Person (CP) appointments and certifications.

  • Support emergency response activities and provide technical assistance when required.

  • Carry out quality checks to ensure maintenance work meets contractual and operational requirements.

  • Support the training and development of team members.

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors.

  • Promote a strong safety culture, professional standards and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline.

  • A current HVAP training certificate, renewed at least every three years.

  • Ideally around five years’ experience working within a technically complex building services or facilities management environment.

  • Strong practical knowledge of engineering maintenance, standards and industry best practice.

  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance independently.

  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.

  • Experience supervising or coordinating engineering activities and contractors.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • The ability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively.

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with clients, colleagues and contractors.
