Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people?Do you have the leadership skills, vision and drive to bring professionals together, strengthen partnerships with schools and ensure that every young person receives the right support at the right time?

We have an exciting opportunity for an Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce Manager to join our team at The Linden Centre, leading a specialist, multidisciplinary taskforce supporting children and young people across Telford and Wrekin.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how specialist support is delivered across mainstream schools and alternative provision settings, helping young people overcome barriers to learning, improve their engagement in education and achieve positive outcomes.

About the role

Based at The Linden Centre, you will lead the Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST), coordinating a multidisciplinary team of specialists to deliver integrated, child-centred support for children and young people across the borough.

As part of the wider Experts at Hand (EAH) model, you will work closely with colleagues across the EAH team to ensure a collaborative, joined-up approach that meets the needs of individual pupils, their families and their schools.

A key feature of this role will be acting as the school-facing lead for The Linden Centre, building strong relationships with school leaders, staff, families and professionals to ensure effective communication, shared planning and consistent support.

You will also lead the planning and coordination of transitions for young people moving between mainstream education and The Linden Centre, ensuring that each transition is carefully planned, well supported and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading and inspiring a specialist taskforce to deliver coordinated, high-quality support for children and young people.
  • Building strong partnerships with schools across Telford and Wrekin, acting as the key link between schools, The Linden Centre and the wider EAH team.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary support, bringing professionals together to develop effective, child-centred responses to individual needs.

We are looking for a proactive, compassionate and collaborative leader who is committed to improving the educational experiences of children and young people.

You will bring the ability to build trusted relationships, lead professionals effectively and navigate complex situations with confidence, empathy and a solution-focused approach.

You will be someone who can see the bigger picture while keeping the individual needs, aspirations and voices of children and young people at the heart of every decision.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience of leading, coordinating or managing teams, projects or specialist services.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people who require additional support or alternative provision.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with schools, families and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to lead effective planning, manage transitions and coordinate support across different settings.
  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, partnership working and improving outcomes for every young person.

Why join us?
