About You

Are you an experienced governance and risk leader with a strong background in social housing, who thrives on influencing strategic decisions, navigating complex regulatory environments and driving high standards of governance?

This is an exciting opportunity to join McCarthy & Stone, shaping governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across our Shared Ownership business and the wider Group.

We are looking for an Associate Director - Risk, Compliance & Governance to join our Legal & Compliance team, providing strategic leadership and expert guidance to the Board and Executive Team of McCarthy & Stone (Shared Ownership), our for-profit Registered Provider of Social Housing.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility in where you work, with occasional travel to our Head Office in Bournemouth.

You will bring extensive social housing governance experience, a strong understanding of the Regulator of Social Housing's framework and the commercial judgement to advise and constructively challenge Board members and Executive leaders. Your ability to balance regulatory expectations, investor confidence and commercial objectives will be key to supporting our continued growth.

Alongside leading governance and compliance within our Shared Ownership business, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and embedding the McCarthy & Stone Group-wide Risk Management Framework, strengthening risk oversight, assurance and accountability across the organisation.

Experience within a for-profit Registered Provider, investor-backed housing organisation or complex Group structure would be particularly valuable, as would experience implementing or transforming Group-wide risk management frameworks.

You will combine strategic thinking with a practical, collaborative approach, translating complex governance and regulatory matters into clear, commercially focused advice while building trusted relationships across the business.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, shaping our governance and risk capabilities while supporting the long-term success of McCarthy & Stone.
