We excel in providing people with a platform to progress into fantastic employment opportunities with rewarding careers prospects.

The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer in Maths to join our high achieving English and Math Division.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Maths Lecturer to join our dynamic teaching team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and help them unlock their potential in the world of mathematics.

You will be part of a highly successful team of dedicated Maths staff delivering GCSE and Functional Skills Maths at Accrington and Rossendale College along with inspiring your students to achieve their best.

East Lancashire Learning Group is 'Powered by Maths and English'. Part of our core strategic intent is to ensure that our learners are English and maths enabled and subsequently there is whole college approach to – and ownership of – English and maths. All Maths teachers are well-qualified and have expert knowledge of the subject and we also continue to invest in teachers' ongoing professional development. You will be joining a team of dedicated, innovative and highly successful subject-experts who achieve remarkable things - students who resit their GCSEs at the college are more than twice as likely to achieve Grade 4-9 than the National Average.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington and Rossendale campus but may be required to travel across sites.

This post would suit an experienced practitioner – with sufficient experience in teaching GCSE maths specifically – who is looking for their next challenge and to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation.

Depending on your previous experience additional incentives may be available as follows:

  • If you are new to FE or in the first five years of your FE teaching career you may be eligible to receive a targeted retention incentive payment of up to £6,000.00 paid directly to you in addition to your salary.
  • If you are not eligible for the above, you may be eligible for a £2500 ‘golden hello’ payment (if you aren't otherwise eligible for government incentive schemes

This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation, or a talented aspiring trainee teacher looking for support with their teaching qualification.

If you are applying as a trainee teacher, the College’s Trainee Teacher programme will include funding for your teaching qualification, as well as mentoring support and coaching from our experienced team. In addition, the DfE Taking Teaching Further funding also offers eligible recruits* a £6,000 incentive payment.
