Location: Essex

Paragon are working with a fast-growing property maintenance company working within the social housing sector. They are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Fencer /Groundworker to join our expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a permanent position with a reputable company that values high-quality workmanship, professionalism and customer satisfaction.

The role will involve carrying out day-to-day reactive repairs and planned maintenance across occupied and void social housing properties throughout Essex.

A significant part of the role will involve breaking out and replacing concrete paths, general groundworks, and installing and repairing fencing, including gates, posts and chain-link fencing.
You will sometimes work independently but will mainly work as part of a two-person team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
-Carrying out general groundworks and external property maintenance.
-Breaking up and removing old concrete paths and installing new concrete paths.
-Undertaking concreting, block paving and associated groundwork repairs.
-Installing, repairing and replacing fencing.
-Installing and repairing gates, fence posts and chain-link fencing.
-Carrying out drainage pipe installations where required.
-Working across occupied and void social housing properties.
-Identifying problems and resolving issues efficiently.
-Managing van stock, tools and materials to ensure jobs can be completed effectively.
-Assisting the office team with ordering materials and parts when required.
-Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
-Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
-Communicating professionally with customers, colleagues and the office team.
-Ensuring all work meets the company's quality standards and customer service expectations.

Essential Requirements
-Minimum of 3 years' relevant fencing and/or groundworks experience.
-Practical experience in general groundworks, fencing installations and repairs.
-Experience installing and repairing gates and fence posts.
-Experience in concreting and block paving.

-Full, clean UK driving licence.
-Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when required.
-Organised, reliable and methodical approach to work.
-Ability to manage van stock, tools and materials.
-Good communication and customer service skills.
-Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person team.
-A DBS check will be required.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

-Experience in the following areas would be advantageous, but training can be provided where necessary:
-Bricklaying and minor brickwork repairs.
-Chain-link fencing installation and repairs.
-Drainage pipe installations.
-Using CAT and Genny equipment for underground service detection.

Full driving licence required (No more than 6 points).
