Staff for Education are working in partnership with a lovely primary school in Newark and we are recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated KS2 Primary Teaching Assistant to join this school starting in October 2026, on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils' learning and development and is looking to make a positive difference.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the KS2 curriculum, providing additional assistance where needed and helping children develop their confidence, independence, and academic skills.

The Role
• Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging KS2 lessons
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils
• Supporting pupils with reading, writing, maths, and wider curriculum subjects
• Helping pupils to develop their confidence, independence, and study skills
• Providing additional support to pupils who require help with their learning
• Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging good learning habits
• Assisting with classroom preparation, resources, and organisation
• Supporting pupils' social and emotional development
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and the wider school team

The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience working with children, particularly within a primary school, is desirable
• A good understanding of the needs of KS2 pupils
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
• A patient, caring, and encouraging approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting different pupils
