Staff for Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated Year 2 Primary Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Newark starting in October. This is an exciting full-time, long term opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences and helping pupils achieve their full potential at an important stage of their primary education.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and the ability to create engaging, inclusive lessons that support pupils’ academic progress, confidence, and independence as they continue their journey through Key Stage 1.
The Role
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum
• Supporting pupils in developing key skills in reading, writing, maths, and wider curriculum areas
• Preparing pupils for end of Key Stage 1 assessments where required
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress to ensure all children are supported to achieve their potential
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Promoting independence, confidence, and a love of learning
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents/carers
In order to be considered for the role, you must have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching within Year 2 or Key Stage 1 (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and Key Stage 1 expectations
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• A nurturing and enthusiastic approach to supporting pupils’ development
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider school community
