Staff for Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming Secondary School for an English Teacher to join their team starting in November 2026, this will be a full-time, long term position based in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students through the study of English Language and English Literature, helping them develop their reading, writing and communication skills in a supportive learning environment.

The Role
As an English Teacher, your main responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons for both KS3 and KS4 classes.
• Inspiring students to develop a love of reading, writing and critical thinking.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Assess, monitor and supporting student progress.
• Preparing students for their GCSE examinations.
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the success of the English department and wider school community.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
• A passion for inspiring young people and promoting high standards of literacy.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
