Staff for Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join their team starting in November 2026. This is a full time, long term position working Monday to Friday. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students with a love of history while working in a supportive and well-established school environment.
The Role
As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for:
• Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across KS3-KS4.
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
• Inspiring students to develop a passion for history and an understanding of historical events and their impact.
• Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress in line with school policies.
• Adapting lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting high standards of learning.
• Working collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school staff.
• Attending departmental meetings, parents' evenings and school events where required.
• Following all school safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety policies.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching History within a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• A genuine passion for inspiring young people.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
