Staff for Education are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Retford area starting in ASAP, on a full time, long term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive catering team, helping to provide healthy, nutritious and enjoyable meals for students and staff, with the potential of a permanent position for the right individual.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the preparation and serving of school meals, snacks and refreshments.
• Setting up and clearing away dining and food service areas.
• Serving students and staff in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
• Washing up and maintaining clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety and allergen procedures at all times.
• Ensuring food is stored, prepared and served safely in line with relevant regulations.
• Replenishing food, drinks and catering supplies where required.
• Assisting with stock rotation and monitoring food supplies.
• Operating catering equipment safely and responsibly.
• Supporting the wider catering team to ensure the smooth running of the school kitchen and lunchtime service.

The Ideal Candidate will:
• Have previous catering, kitchen or food service experience, ideally within a school or similar environment (desirable but not essential).
• Have a good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen awareness.
• Be reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Have a friendly and approachable manner when working with students and staff.
• Be able to work in a busy environment while maintaining high standards.
• Have good communication and organisational skills.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
• Be flexible and committed to providing a high standard of service to students and staff.
