Thompsons Solicitors are a law firm unlike any other. With nearly 100 years’ experience of successfully representing clients of injury and mistreatment, we have the privilege of working with and supporting the Trade Union Movement and the people they represent.
By providing an inclusive environment, we ensure that individually and collectively we flourish to be the best we can be. We are recognised as one of the UK's leading teams by credible directories including The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, as well as being highly recommended in The Times’ Best Law Firms 2019. We pride ourselves on being “the most experienced trade union, claimant and employment rights law firm in the UK”, our friendly working environment and our excellent work/life balance.
As a Paralegal you will be dedicated to making a difference to the lives of people who have suffered injury or mistreatment, by helping to gain compensation on a daily basis. You will have knowledge of Personal Injury law and the Ministry of Justice Low Value Portal claims process and experience of client contact, either in person or by telephone. Previous case handling experience is ideal but not essential.
To ensure you thrive in the role, we will provide you with structured supervision, coaching and training as well as a nurturing environment, where you can grow and shape your career.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Paralegal to join our highly successful National Litigation Unit located in Stoke on Trent office. Historically the heart of Stoke’s industrial greatness and a fitting location for Thompsons with our continued support for workers nationally through personal injury claims and unfair treatment. The role of Paralegal will involve managing a caseload of low value Fast-Track cases which include Employers Liability, Public Liability and Road Traffic Accident claims. Specifically you will be: investigating liability; assessing the strengths of a claim; gathering liability, causation and quantum evidence; liaising with clients, defendants, insurers, employers, witnesses, medical experts and the police; valuing claims; and negotiating settlements (in liability admitted cases).
