An opportunity is available for a Safety Co-ordinator based within our licence areas of West Midlands, East Midlands, South West or Wales.

Reporting to one of the Operational Safety Managers you will coordinate activities/projects that support how we lead, manage, and talk about safety.

You will be a key member of our newly formed safety team and will be responsible for analysing data collected from various sources and identifying themes and trends to help our safety team put in place appropriate interventions to keep our people safe. 

You will coordinate our safety conferences, support effective communication around safety initiatives and campaigns and be the conduit of all thing’s safety for our customers.

As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. This is a full-time role; however flexible working can be considered.

Occasional travel will be needed to other office/sites, in line with business need.

• Liaise with the business to get updates and feedback on projects, initiatives, and cross-functional work, and monitor and report on the progress of safety improvement plans and programmes.
• Help develop engagement plans and to set up safety conferences, communications, and campaigns.
• Coordinate improvement initiatives, engagement, and improvement plans. collate themes outcomes, etc. 
• Collate and analyse data from safety surveys, Safe to Say (confidential reporting tool) etc., identify trends and themes and draft engagement and improvement plans from feedback.
• Identify actions from changes safety policy and procedure changes, and where those changes link to survey, Safe to Say and other stakeholder feedback.
• Monitor compliance of incident investigations, ensuring timely reporting, appropriate documents are completed accurately and on time, action tracking, and be responsive to requests from investigations teams.
• Prepare reports and presentations with data trends analysis, indicators, and insights to feedback to the Safety Operations Managers.
• Monitor key performance indicators, trend proactive and reactive safety performance, deliverables and identify areas for improvement.
• Respond in a timely and professional way to telephone/email queries, concerns and feedback, and delegate and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Use your insights from trends and themes to advise the Safety team on issues/feedback raised by stakeholders, resource issues and any action needed.

• Be competent using Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel etc.
• A self-starter, able to work independently and within a team.
• Organised and with good attention to detail, great at building relationships, working to tight deadlines and strong time management skills.
• Open-minded to change with a flexible and creative approach to work, and comfortable working through ambiguity.
• Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
• Aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking.
• Awareness of safety and human performance (Desirable).
