We are currently looking for a Category Manager this will be based at our Solihull office reporting into Senior Procurement Manager – Cement & Sustainability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Expert management of strategic relationships with key country suppliers to drive value aligned to the objectives of the organisation.
  • Proactively engage and influence stakeholders, including Excom, CRH Category Cluster teams and local cross functional teams to deliver sourcing initiatives.
  • Own the category end-to-end, including Sustainability, SRM and Contract Management driving contract compliance and long term value-add and innovation.
  • Be seen in the business as the expert in category knowledge, and able to, demonstrate in-depth knowledge & understanding of all areas of spend within the category cluster.
  • Effective communication with end user stakeholders to ensure business needs & requirements are understood.
  • Maximise value of contracts through compliance activity, proactive business engagement and responsiveness to stakeholders.
  • Drive procurement KPI performance management through contract management and create a culture of continuous improvement with tangible results.
  • Ensure highest ethical principles and standards are implemented.
  • Drive execution of CRH regional and global strategies. Lead the coordination all category activities within a country during bid and project execution phases.
  • Drive category cluster synergies across UK businesses and IRE cluster.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Educated to a degree in business or technical.
  • Ideally MCIPS qualified.
  • 5-8 years Procurement Experience
  • Experience in category management in a multi country organisation
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages a plus
  • Willing to cooperate in international projects.
  • Experience in multiple industry sectors considered a plus
