We are looking for a Safety, Audit and Environment Operativebased at the Inland Border Facility (IBF) in Ashford, Kent which is a site for transit movements of goods from the UK, with parking, security and inspection facilities. You will be interacting and providing inductions to staff and visitors onsite and ensuring that everybody adheres to a safe system of work.

You will be working under a Shift Operations Lead and ensure that accidents and incidents are investigated to identify root cause problems and will eliminate existing dangers and develop solutions that will reduce the risk of other accidents occurring.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Health and Safety (including risk assessments and environment checks)
  • Audits
  • Stakeholder Management

You will ideally have an NEBOSH qualification, be IT literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office and have extensive experience within health and safety. You will be keen, enthusiastic, and willing to learn and be part of a culture where health and safety is a priority in line with Sodexo’s vision of creating a ‘zero harm’ mindset.

This is a fixed site role where you will be working on a 4 on 4 off day shift pattern. You will need to be flexible to work night shifts as and when required.

You will also need to have a full clean UK driving licence as you will be required to drive as part of the role and be expected to drive a pollution vehicle.

Please note that this position will be offered subject to security clearance – this requires a minimum of 3 years residency within the UK.
