Our story  

Inspired by his travels and love of cooking, Charlie Bigham set up shop in 1996 with the aim of creating really delicious and convenient dishes – putting in all the care and attention that you would if you were to cook them yourself at home. 
 
25 years later, Charlie Bigham’s is the number one brand in the chilled prepared meal category. With over 50 recipes available in major supermarkets, our distinctive wooden trays and illustrated packaging make us instantly recognisable on-shelf. 

Bigham’s has achieved impressive growth since launch, and we continue to grow in a sustainable way.  We now employ over 750 people across two thriving kitchens in London and Somerset.  We're a certified Great Place to Work and have achieved B-Corp status because it’s the right thing to do for our business, for our consumers and for the planet.

Who we’re looking for 

A Head of Marketing to create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to deliver against our ambitious growth targets, through bringing more and more consumers joy in our delicious food. 

Main Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Commercial & Marketing Director, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Own the marketing strategy and collaborate with your team to create and execute engaging, effective marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and implement a brand experience that resonates with our target consumers and is consistently delivered across all touchpoints.
  • Lead the brand planning process by working collaboratively to meet both Bigham’s and our retailers’ category objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive the New and Existing Food Development strategy, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and a love for food by championing Bigham’s values.
  • Manage, motivate, develop, and inspire your marketing team to deliver exceptional results for our consumers.
  • Report regularly to the Board on performance, opportunities, and growth potential.
The Ideal Candidate

What You'll Bring to the Table

Key Skills and Experience

  • Blue chip FMCG marketing background (including insights, brand marketing, shopper marketing, experiential activation, digital, PR, innovative packaging and creative development), with a track record of delivering highly creative and effective campaigns
  • Experience working in high-growth, entrepreneurial/challenger brands, ideally within the food sector or a similarly innovative industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, having successfully led and developed teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to track, analyse, and evaluate performance against objectives.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, able to clearly identify key issues and communicate them in an inspiring and motivating way.
