Our dynamic and forward-thinking Engineering Team have an exciting opportunity to join them as an Environment Lead. We’re looking for someone who has strong technical aptitude with a desire to learn and a genuine interest in innovative technologies. The position is responsible for the longer-term Environment Strategy and will be responsible for operating the release management process utilising Azure DevOps. The team you will be joining is our Engineering
team. It consists of around 150 colleagues all with diverse skills and backgrounds in both software and data. We work hand in hand with many colleagues around the business including IT, Change and Digital to deliver outstanding experiences for our Members.

What Will You Be Doing?
The purpose of this new role will be to embed the longer term Environments Strategy as well as being responsible for the following on a day to day basis:
- Controlling and monitoring the software deployments across all environments from initial Architecture to Development, Test through to Production.
- Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure environments are available and suitable for the various stages of testing.
- Risk analysis on candidates through the RTL, liaising with Release Teams and esc
alating risks
- Ownership of environmental issues, carrying out full Root Cause Analysis and managing enhancements to prevent re-occurrence across Engineering and IT.
- Ensuring the Environment Architecture and Design are kept in line for all new solutions, capability and 3rd Party Systems.
- Data and Configuration Management
- Cost Management
- Production of relevant MI to all stakeholders
- Manage the refresh of the environments, ensuring patches and Jade Hotfixes are kept upto date.
- Manage the access to the environments
- To work with the Security functions to ensure environments are compliant with the appropriate security standards
- Create short-term plans to deliver environments to support sprint-based development
- Coordinate activities of release engineers to automate the setup and configuration of test environments
- Monitor and guarantee uptime of test environments
- Communicate test environment availability to project management and quality assurance
- Develop KPIs to track efficacy of test environment delivery efforts
- Resolve conflicts between teams competing for limited testing resources
- Design systems to support continuous delivery and adapt test environment management to support on-demand, self-service automation
- Forecast environment requirements based on anticipated future demand from multiple application development teams
What Do We Need From You?
- Has practical knowledge of release and deployment systems, including the monitoring of strengths and weaknesses.
- Demonstrates good working knowledge of own organisation's policy framework, management structures and reporting procedures for the release management environment (within a change control context)
- Evidence of practical involvement in all stages of the information systems lifecycle, from feasibility through to support and in all stages of the service lifecycle.
