So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting, opportunity for a Finance Manager or Controller, with a strong background within Financial Reporting and Controls to join YHG as our Finance Manager – Reporting & Controls and operationally lead on our statutory financial reporting requirements.

We are looking for a senior finance professional with knowledge of the Housing Sector, that relishes the opportunity to work operationally with the team within your remit to really own the numbers.

Reporting in directly to the Head of Finance – Reporting & Controls as their number 2, you will work in partnership with both your team and the wider finance function to establish and maintain an effective reporting and control environment.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will have operational responsibility for the delivery and financial control of all statutory accounting activities for Your Housing Group, leading on the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting timetables and activities, ensuring compliance across the full finance team to all policy and year end requirements, including audit management.

You will lead and manage both the fixed asset and group accounting teams, ensuring that all reporting and control requirements are met, enabling the business to provide an efficient and transparent service to all our customers.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be successful as our new Finance Manager – Reporting & Controls, you will be a confident decision maker and manager of people, able to build and maintain effective working relationships throughout the wider finance team and business. You will need to have a keen future focus, able to identify and implement operational improvements, ensuring these are adopted throughout the finance function as best practice.

It genuinely is an exciting time to join our Finance Team, here at Your Housing Group, as there are a lot of positive changes taking place following the appointment of our new CFO, including the further automation and digitisation of Financial systems, a new chart of accounts on the horizon, plus as this is a newly scoped position, it’s a role you can truly make your own and provides a real opportunity to help shape the change.

And who are Your Housing Group?

That all sounds great, what’s in it for me?

In return we are offering a salary of £55,000 - £60,000, 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), but our employee offering provides far more than a competitive salary and car allowance.

At #TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too. And when you need to collaborate with your team, you can visit Youggle House – our purpose-built collaboration, wellbeing, and social space.

On top of this, we’ll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through BHSF, that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half price cinema tickets, subsidised gym memberships and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.

So, if you are ready for a fresh challenge with a business that can offer a high level of autonomy, flexibility in your working week and a genuine opportunity to make a real and positive impact, then we’d love to hear from you!
