Dow Group are a family run waste management company based in Cumbernauld who are committed to tackling the events of climate change and were the first recycling firm in Scotland to turn rubbish into fuel. They are a sustainable waste management firm who take their private and public sector customers’ rubbish and recycle it. With over 40 years’ experience their services include skip hire, bin hire, tipper hire, renewables and civil engineering.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a confident and hardworking apprentice to join their team to provide support to their business support team! If working for a company who take the effects of global warming seriously then this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Becoming an expert in Sage for processing sales invoicing for the wider business
  • Daily data entry onto their bespoke skip hire system to process customers’ orders
  • Managing finance documents through Microsoft Excel and processing these via Sage
  • Working as a first response to customers and clients with regards to orders and diary bookings
  • Using online templates via Microsoft Word templates to provide quotes to customers then sending these via Outlook
  • Using online shared drives and client portals to update order information daily
  • Using Microsoft Packages daily in relation to updating pricing information for requested products and services

Salary:

£11,648 per annum

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Future prospects:

Progression routes available to other roles for example an account manager or helpdesk operator.

This vocational apprenticeship comprehensively supports your specific job role with this particular employer.  Throughout your learning journey, you are fully supported by your dedicated QA skills coach and your mentor at work.  They ensure you settle in, help you develop all the skills you need to be successful in your job role and pass your assessments, and can provide one to one support.

Starting with insights into your current potential, they plan your growth in a programmatic way, close skills gaps with immersive training and ensure what you learn is applicable to what you do. They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day to day role.

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
