The Vacancy

Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Advanced Technical Lecturer in Electrical Installation.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes in Construction and the Built Environment, across a range of levels of further education, higher education and / or apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

This post requires a strong background in Electrical Installation and the built Environment and the candidate must have proven track record of professional / vocational expertise in the Construction sector.

1) The role will involve you in teaching the Electrical and Built Environment elements of our Level 3 Electrotechnical Engineering T- Level Students and other full time level 2 students or apprentices.

2) To be successful you will need as strong background in electrical domestic or commercial installation or maintenance. You will be a qualified electrician with AM2, L3 electrically biased qualification, 18th edition, Inspection and Testing qualifications are essential. A solid knowledge of the built environment is also essential to be successful in this role.

3) An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
