Within Anglian Water, we collaborate with several alliance partners to provide the best water and water recycling services across the region by maintaining our existing assets and undertaking new projects to safeguard future water supplies.

Playing a key part in our drive to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop is our Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Alliance. Comprising of Anglian Water, Morrison Utility Services, Barhale and Kier, the IOS Alliance work together to concentrate on solutions across the water recycling and clean water asset base, typically totalling £50-60m per year.

The IOS alliance works across multiple disciplines including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control. Incorporating new construction, replacement, or repair, spanning the entirety of the Anglian Waters asset base.

To ensure water and water recycling projects in the Northampton area are managed successfully from inception to completion, ensuring all required standards, regulations, commercial affordability targets and time frames are met, we are looking for a Graduate Planner to join the team.

 What you will be doing as our new Graduate Planner?

As our new Graduate Planner, you’ll work under the direct guidance of an experienced Planner in an integrated project delivery team and gain experience in developing and maintaining accurate and robust project plans. Working cross-functionally, you’ll learn to take ownership of the project plan, drive the project team to deliver the plan and challenge any delay and deviation. 

With an established training programme geared towards you becoming a Senior Planner, you’ll succeed in this role by being enthusiastic, visible, and eager to learn and make a difference!

 Responsibilities:

  • Assist with collaboratively developing and maintaining robust detailed project plans for the Delivery Team by IOS requirements. 
  • Liaise with Delivery Teams to ensure consistency of key assumptions on methodology and outputs etc. 
  • Assist with ensuring project plans capture the full project scope and the resource plan is maintained. 
  • Assist with proactively ensuring project plans are up to date identifying opportunities and risks in the plan and monitoring the critical path and key milestones, advising the delivery team on any potential changes. 
  • Assist with developing 4D animations of the project plan to aid the digital rehearsal of the project construction. 
  • Learn to communicate the effects of progress on key dates and challenge the team to deliver on time. 
  • Ensure planning standards are maintained across IOS and adhere to published processes. 
  • Complete and comply with all operational site H&S requirements to ensure safe working practices. 

 A little bit about your skills, experience, and behaviours….

To join us and develop your career in Planning you’ll be currently studying for or have completed a degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an Engineering/ Management/ Construction discipline and have a desire to pursue a career in a Project-based role.

Being a pro-active team member, having strong organisational skills and being able to prioritise will underpin your drive to learn, develop and make a positive impact.
