 About the Role 

There are 12 public libraries in the borough, all of them providing a range of services that meet the needs of their local communities. Library staff pride themselves on the high quality and welcoming service they are able to offer local people.

 Administration Skills: You will be responsible for all administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day functions of the libraries whilst prioritising a high workload and maintaining records.

 Communication Skills: you will be dealing with members of the public on a day to day basis via face to face communication, emails and telephone it is essential for you to have the ability to communicate clearly and proficiently.

Confidence- You can confidently deal with challenging situations in a calm and effective manner.

Organisation Skills: You will shelve and tidy stock, promoting it and helping customers choose books and ensuring that our collections are ordered, well-presented and accessible.

IT/Systems- Do you have proven experience with eResources, social media and web applications as well as practical knowledge have a practical knowledge of a range of IT software and programs, 

 

Shift Patterns 

We have full-time and part-time posts.

 Full-time 36-hour posts working 4 days every week and every other Saturday.

Weekdays from 9.15 – 6.15/7.15

Saturdays from 9.15 – 4.15

 Part-time 18-hour posts working in general 2 days each week and every other Saturday.

Weekdays 9.15 – 6.15/7.15

Saturdays 9.15 – 4.15

 Part-time 18-hour Lunch Cover posts working 4 days each week and every other Saturday. 

Weekdays 10.30 - 2.15

Saturdays 9.15 - 4.15
