This permanent post is a perfect opportunity to someone who wants to make a difference to healthy lifestyles and health inequalities in West Northamptonshire.

We are looking for someone to join our team working with the Public Health Specialist and Principal in driving forward the health improvement and communities agenda across West Northamptonshire. This role is integral to the prevention of the ill health agenda and tackling health inequalities.

What will you be doing?

You will be working with a dedicated, motivated and ambitious Public Health and wider council team, with a focus on the Health Improvements and Communities and the wider prevention agenda.

You will be responsible for and lead project development and management of key areas of work around healthy weight for adults, getting people more active, creating a smoke free environment and ensuring community awareness and access to all key healthy lifestyle services. You will embed this work in the wider inequalities strategy.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience of developing and implementing health improvement programmes for adults and communities regarding healthy lifestyle and inequalities issues.  Ideally you will have experience of working across the areas of healthy weight, physical activity, preventing smoking and of working across communities to engage people in the health agenda and raise awareness of key issues and services.  You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to work with a wider range of partners and communities.
