We are looking for a dynamic Junior HR officer with a passion for making a difference to others. This role is based within an already established and highly effective HR team supporting the General Manager to provide a comprehensive HR generalist service to the our flagship hospital site. 

You’ll be working Full time (40 hours per week) at Cygnet Hospital Bury, helping ensure the safe and smooth running of services for the people in our care. 

Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents,.

Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Your Day-to-Day...

  • Ensuring HR records and systems are accurate, up to date and comply with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulations and Act 2018.
  • Maintenance of personnel files to ensure all new and contractual amendments are processed efficiently by the creation of appropriate documentation.
  • To ensure that managers are supported in dealing with staff absences in accordance with good HR practices and company policy
  • Providing guidance to support manager’s compliance that all employee absence is timely and accurately recorded.
  • Maintaining pay related absence information for monthly reporting to payroll within agreed deadlines.
  • Act as a unit HR link for health and wellbeing and all company benefits e.g. employee assistance, maternity/paternity, and health care, pension and life cover information.
  • Undertake Monthly checks of payroll reports /information / leavers and starters/deductions etc for timely submission to payroll.

  • A minumum of CIPD level 3 qualified.
  • An experienced administrator.
  • Have demonstraitable HR generalist knowledge and experience.
  • Flexible, organised, able to prioritise workloads, solve problems & make decisions
  • Calm under pressure & can work under your own initiative
  • A strong written & verbal communicator with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Windows & the internet.
