Due to internal promotions we’re looking for a new Head of Operations within NHS Supply Chain. You will have overall responsibility and management for the Culinary and Dietetics, Marketing and Comms as well as the Project Management, audit and administration support for the contract.
The overall team comprises of 8 individuals, all experts in their field. The Culinary and Dietetics Team are responsible for leading added value innovation, training and development and expert advise and guidance to our NHS Customers and wider team. The team also support the procurement process, reviewing products as well as product switching, compliance and governance. The Project Management and administrative team are responsible for supporting the total team with project and event management and support for contract audits and process control for HR and people management. Marketing and Comms are responsible for creation and managing the internal and external communications strategy for the contract and producing marketing materials and expert knowledge on customer insight.
This is a Leadership role that supports the business director develop and implement the overall NHS contract strategy to deliver NHS savings and spend growth targets.
More about the role:
- Develop and execute the NHS contract strategy in order to attain the goals of Foodbuy and SCCL (the client).
- Working together with the Leadership team to ensure strong effective leadership to the extended team and alignment with Foodbuy.
- Provide strategic advice to the Leadership Team so that they will have an accurate view of the teams performance and future opportunities to support the contract.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development leading edge activities.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including SCCL (the client) and within the healthcare market e.g., NHS Trusts and NHS England.
- Oversee the Project Management team to support strong performance and operations.
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of the Operations team providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.
- Represent Foodbuy and NHS Supply Chain: Food at Industry events and forums in ways that strengthen its reputation.
- Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure trust spend retention and growth.
- Energise, inspire and develop the Operations Team with pace, passion and resilience.
- Build a high performing team culture and position Operations as a destination for talent both internally and externally.
Who you are:
- Proven experience in a strategic role or other senior managerial position.
- Demonstrable experience in developing strategic business plans.
- Knowledge of Healthcare and or Public Sector market dynamics and forces that influence the sector. Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent people management skills and focus on team development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience of building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders with differing needs.
