We are seeking a self-motivated and energetic Business Development Coordinator to join our Special Educational Needs Service within Education.

The overall aim of this role is to manage the day to day business admin/support functions of the SEND including Statutory Assessment Teams as well as provide support to the Head of SEND and Strategic SEND Manager with the strategic and improvement objectives of the service.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Development Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to continuously improve and enhance our business support services, working alongside operational teams. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership:  Lead, develop and implement the business support workforce to ensure delivery of relevant business processes and activities that provide quality, and are consistent.   
  • Expertise: Provision of guidance in areas of service support such as Business Continuity Planning, Risk Management, and Internal Communications; taking the lead in relation to the areas of service expertise as appropriate, and dealing with enquires that require additional knowledge.
  • Line Management & Team Development: Line manage and supervise business support staff, and lead, motivate, and inspire support team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Mentorship: Sharing knowledge and expertise through mentoring and coaching, nurturing talent within the team.
  • Strategic & Project Coordination: Lead and manage service projects, initiatives, and events, ensuring objectives are met. Provide advice to colleagues and senior managers on emerging business support related issues and services, making recommendations for action and highlighting areas of concern.
  • Cultural Change: Lead and foster a cultural change within Business Support and across internal services.
About you

This is a demanding but very rewarding role in a fast-paced business support environment, suited to someone with resilience and experience of working in SEND and education. 

You will have line management experience and the ability to support a team working alongside operational teams, including the means and ability to travel the County to support staff in our locations. 

You will have budget and resource management skills, with a proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively. You will also be used to working on a variety of case management systems, train staff on systems and processes and monitor and review data. 

Proven change management and problem solving skills, are key in this role with an ability to manage key pieces of work/projects and identify challenges, and proactively develop creative solutions to address them, fostering adaptability and innovation.

A collaborative and flexible approach to working with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to achieve shared goals is crucial as is flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
