ArrowXL is now recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join our supportive team, situated at our Enfield site.

The Transport Clerk role is essential as it is the link between the crews working on the road and the management team who have to track the progress of daily activities and ensure the business remains commercially focused. Clerical work must be carried out with strong attention to detail and efficiency to provide the management team with regularly updated information and to support the crews on the road, who may experience challenges or have queries whilst fulfilling our service.

Additional Information

  • Basic hourly rate of £11.44 (Plus 10% Shift Allowance)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Working hours: 13:00 - 21:30

Main Responsibilities

With support and guidance from the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Allocation of work to our Delivery Crews.
  • Monitoring on the road progress and keeping management informed of any issues.
  • Downloading drivers’ cards/tachographs.
  • Resolving concerns that may occur day to day.
  • Doing all you can to help our Delivery Crews successfully deliver to our customers.
  • Gather information with regards to driver delays and reasons for late deliveries.
  • Supporting the debrief of Crews upon their return to the depot.
  • Keeping yourself familiar with products and clients to help support Delivery Crews.
  • General office duties.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator; however full training will be provided. If you are proficient with all Microsoft packages and want to develop a career in logistics, we would love to hear from you!

You must also meet our essential requirements below:

  • Excellent standards of communication; both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends.
  • Computer literate, as you will need to use our Transport management systems (system specific training will be provided).
  • A confident approach to challenging situations.
  • Is independent in exercising professional knowledge without close supervision.
  • Solves problems according to experience, analyses possible solutions and provides suggestions for improvement under defined parameters.
  • Effectively manages time so that deadlines are met both individually and as a team.
  • Act upon any feedback from your line manager concerning individual and / or team performance.
  • Be responsible for and undertake continual learning and development both informally and formally, ensuring a clear understanding of the business and cross functional priorities.
