The Vacancy

The aim of the role is to improve the “Apprenticeship Ready” service at Newcastle College and to increase the number of apprenticeship vacancies and applications. The applicant will explore opportunities to develop and implement regional promotional campaigns aimed at employers and learners to stimulate apprenticeship interest and will support employer partners to maximise the Levy in the region including a levy match making service.

The applicant will develop guidance to overcome barriers to learners and employers viewing apprenticeships as a viable option for under 18s and will ensure up to date application and interview readiness support for apprenticeship seekers with the overall aim to increase the overall recruitment experience for learners and employers alike.



The Learner Recruitment Consultant will engage with a diverse client base, they’ll have strong communication and influencing skills. They will be the point of contact for learners and employers and will actively source their own employer / learner pipeline through a variety of business development activities. Learner Recruitment Consultant will be able to speak to a wide variety of people including CEO`S, HR, L&D, SME`S as well as parents and apprenticeship applicants.



The Learner Recruitment Consultant will organise innovative and engaging recruitment campaigns and will meet all applicants for face to face inductions and interviews. Furthermore, you will work with employer partners to offer the best possible recruitment strategy whether that is advertisement, promotional video`s or social media. You will be the point of contact for students for CV writing and interview technique workshops as well as advising on self-sourcing of vacancies.



The post holder will have experience of working in a fast-paced target driven environment and will be expected to introduce new recruitment methods to enhance the overall experience for apprenticeship applicants. The candidate must have exceptional communication skills and be confident in presenting to large audiences including current Newcastle College students.



Key Responsibilities:

Improve “Apprenticeship Ready” service for all Apprenticeship applicants.
Increase overall Apprenticeship recruitment experience for all applicants.
Increase overall Apprenticeship applications.
Manage Apprenticeship specific promotional campaigns
Coordinate the recruitment process for sourced Apprenticeship opportunities
Actively identify opportunities to grow Newcastle College Apprenticeship opportunities
Be accountable for personal recruitment KPI’s and objectives
Organise and attend all information advice and guidance events
Identify and attend events aimed at young people or those within priority target groups
Follow up on enquiries in a timely fashion
Develop effective working relationships within key 3rd party learner providers
Develop effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
Work effectively with the customer facing Business Consultants to meet employer requirements
Liaise with Newcastle College marketing department on relevant promotional materials
Identify and develop opportunities for learner recruitment within hard to reach target groups
Assist in the production of presentation materials used by the Business Consultant team
Other duties that may be reasonably assigned by the line manager
Ensure compliance of all administrative processes and system used throughout the apprenticeship recruitment process
