Main Responsibilities
  • To manage the daily running of QA operations to ensure operational implementation of all statutory obligations, customer requirements, company policies with respect to food safety and due diligence on the factory floor.
  • To implement effective procedures and factory floor verification activities to ensure operational and technical integrity at all times
  • Monitor customer and consumer complaints for trends on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis and share findings with operational and QA teams in order to generate ideas for root cause analysis.
  • Implement and follow up on any corrective and preventative actions agreed for continuous improvements. 
  • Manage finished product hold and release systems to ensure timely availability of finished products to the supply chain, and only products that meet customer specifications are released.
  • Manage the introduction of variable labelling requirements into operational activities, including pricing and promotional activities, pack & date schedules.
  • Ensure all sampling requirements on shift are met in line with the verification schedule.
  • Ensure all test equipment used on shift are calibrated and maintained within calibration standards. 
  • Support the Site QA Manager in the maintenance of the pest control contract by ensuring timely completion of all actions assigned to members of the shift.
  • Ensuring organoleptic and all other test databases are accurately maintained in order to ensure effective reporting.
  • Communicate, liaise & escalate issues where necessary
  • Participate in site projects and ensure that food safety & quality requirements are considered in all site projects.
  • Represent the company in matters related to food safety and quality to external regulatory bodies and customers
  • Undertake other tasks relating to the effective operation and continual improvement of the FSQMS, Quality and Operational activities and customer standards and directives that may be required from time to time or as a permanent addition to accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • At all times act in the best interests of 2SFG, its employees, its brands, 2SFG customers and the final consumers of the products manufactured by 2SFG.
  • Participate in developing and embedding a quality focused culture of behavioural food safety to enable continuous improvement to standards.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualifications
    • Food Safety level 3 or 4
    • HACCP level 3
    • Internal Auditor
    • Diploma or higher national certificate in food science or food technology related discipline
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years in a Food Manufacturing environment in a supervisory role.
    • Demonstrable track record of delivering continuous improvement in technical & food safety standards
    • Experience with 2nd and 3rd party standard requirements.
    • Experience of a working with demanding retail or similar customer base
    • Detailed knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Understanding of current FSQ legislation
    • Detailed knowledge of HACCP.
    • Working knowledge of WHS legislation & systems
    • Excellent track record of managing teams; building capability, addressing any issues effectively and in compliance with legislative and company policies & procedures
    • Experience of managing internal & external auditing processes & requirements
    • Experience in organizing teams and leading root cause analysis sessions.

    • Leadership, supervision & motivation of technical staff
