Outdoor Instructor

•    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, due to the nature of the work, flexibility within these hours is required based on the needs of the children.

•    Annual Leave: You will receive 33 days per annum; our holiday year runs from March to February.

Main Responsibilities:    

We are looking for creative outdoor instructors to provide a varied range of inspiring and exciting outdoor opportunities working across Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham. No two days are the same, and our programme is planned-around the needs of each child. This means you could be leading mountain biking, ghyll scrambling, or spending a day on the lake, or for our more adventurous children, you could be planning and delivering multi-day expeditions.

Key qualities that we look for: 

•    At least 2 of the following National Governing body qualifications required:

- Summer Mountain Leader.

- Rock Climbing Instructor.

- British Cycling Level 2 Mountain Bike leader or equivalent.

- British Canoeing Paddlesport Leader Award or equivalent.

- Moving water safety and rescue qualification.

•    Full Driving Licence essential.

•  Successful collaboration to deliver and plan outdoors educational activities.

•    The ability to engage and motivate our teams.

•    Support the aims and ethos of A Wilderness Way.
