Join Our New Flagship Female Acute/PICU & Mental health Rehabilitaion service:

We are looking for a professional, ambitious & confident newly qualified (or soon to be qualified) Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)/Registered Learning & Disability Nurse (RNLD) to join us at Cygnet Kenney House.

Cygnet Kenney House is our New purpose built, Flagship Acute/PICU & Mental health rehabilitation service located in Oldham. Set to open its doors in September 2024.

We are actively seeking experienced, resilient and dedicated Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurses to join our founding team who can play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, practices, and success of this brand-new facility.

Developed in collaboration with the NHS to with the aim to support women from the North West to be treated closer to home. There will be three wards at Cygnet Kenney House;

The PICU and Acute environments will offer rapid access to care, supporting women to move quickly and safely through to the most appropriate and least restrictive setting.

The mental health rehabilitation and recovery ward (level 2) will support individuals moving on from the Acute ward, as well as external referrals from other services such as secure, CAMHS, prison services and more.


Your Day-to-Day…

  • You’ll be working Full time (37.5) hours a week across a mixed shift pattern within Cygnet Kenney House.
  • Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments and observations
  • Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality
  • Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
  • Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete & maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer prescribed medicines with Healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.

You are…

  • Open, compassionate, honest & resilient 
  • Newly Qualified (or soon to be qualified) RMN / RNLD with a current valid registration
  • Capable to maintain documentation and undertake audits
  • Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & have an understanding of latest nursing practices
  • Able to deputise in a clinical lead role
  • Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk 
  • Helping to empower & support service user independence.
