Due to growth, we are currently looking for a Sales Manager – Internal to join our team in Tarmac Stancombe office, Flax Bourton near Bristol. This is an office-based role working in the commercial team with responsibility for delivering sales of higher margin revenue streams of our products. This role is commutable from Long Ashton, Nailsea, Portbury, Portishead, Wrington, Langford, Yatton, Bristol and the surrounding areas.

In the role of Sales Manager – Internal you will be working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. Following successful completion of training you will have the option for hybrid working.

Main Responsibilities

The role of Sales Manager – Internal will be responsible for leading the development of the strategic plan to maximise the benefits of our various product reserves. As Sales Manager – Internal you will also be responsible for:

  • Delivering annual budgeted volumes, pricing and margin
  • Developing and maintaining regional sales pipeline to drive performance
  • Negotiating alongside Procurement with key third party hauliers, haulage companies
  • Directly managing, engaging and developing a predetermined portfolio of Tarmac customer accounts aligned to the commercial strategy
  • Ensuring all commercial target requirements are achieved through a diligent and intelligent approach aligned with our commercial strategy
  • Forging new relationships with key influencers to gather market and commercial intelligence and feeding that information into the Sales Pipeline management process
  • Cost effective distribution of materials using local systems
  • Working closely with Operations to understand potential issues and opportunities in-line with commercial strategy
  • Ensuring customer service expectations are met and developing an ethos of service excellence

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Sales Manager – Internal will have proven sales experience gained within a manufacturing, heavy industry or engineering sector and you will be adept at creating rapport through considered questioning and accurate active listening.

In addition to proven sales capability suitable candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Successful sales track record with the ability to build relationships and trust through providing solutions that meet the customer needs
  • Proven ability to gain commitment and successfully close customer deals
  • Effective conflict resolution skills – handling all situations effectively to achieve a positive outcome
  • Account management experience including tracking and developing a portfolio of accounts, forging working relationships with customers and being the ‘go to person’ for your own customers
  • Proven negotiating skills with effective use of questioning and listening to effectively establish customer need.
  • Confidence to influence and persuade key stakeholders and customers
  • Flexible attitude to task management and the ability to work autonomously
  • Proven ability to prioritise, plan and monitor own activity
  • Effective decision-making skills that incorporate risk management and commercial gain
