Working as part of Facilities team for west Northamptonshire Council, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Porter/Cleaner. Based in the Historic Guildhall and Other Civic Buildings.
Duties- General cleaning, including public areas, toilets, Meeting rooms and also external areas, courtyard and steps
Set up for events and Meetings- moving furniture, setting up AV equipment, preparing refreshments (Tea & Coffee)
Undertake confidential waste, rubbish and Recycling collections in the office spaces.
Knowledge- COSHH, Manual Handling and H&S
Customer Service Skills
The Successful Candidate will undertake Specific Training on Duties and Procedures Relevant to all areas of the Council, Fire Marshal Duties, Manual Handling and COSHH
The Skills Essential for this Role are previous Portering and Cleaning experience in a Similar Role and an Ability to Work Flexibly, Early Mornings and some Evenings. The Post Holder will be required to work One Saturday in 5 on a Rota Basis.

About you
Our ideal person will have strong customer service skills and solid understanding of COSHH, manual handling, and health & safety regulations. With previous experience in portering and cleaning roles, you will be adept at maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Your flexibility will be valued as you're willing to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional Saturdays, ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and events.
