The Driver Trainer/Assessor role is critical in delivering a consistent approach to driver training and driver assessments. A key member of a dedicated, experienced, and forward-thinking fleet team you will be working with drivers and staff across various departments and in various vehicles within the Council.

What will you be doing?
  • Ensure a compliant standard and programme of driver training, in line with internal and external requirements, including providing classroom and practical training to drivers and operational staff.
  • Delivery of driver assessments to new and existing driver across all departments and licence categories, including specialist vehicles such as waste collection vehicles.
  • Maintenance of driver training & assessment records for all staff and departments.
  • Advise and assist in the development and of fleet related safe working practices, risk assessments and general fleet related health & safety.
About you

We are looking for an engaging, collaborative, customer focused individual with excellent communication skills to join the team.

You must hold a driver assessor qualification and a valid HGV Class 2 licence.

An engaging person with the ability to deliver classroom and practical training and capability of adapting their training style to the audience to maximise engagement and learning.
