WEST COAST (OBT ADVENTURE CENTRE) STAFF

Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We run a prestigious and well-established Summer School for children aged 8-16 from approximately 40 nationalities. Each year we create a vibrant international community where our staff play a critical role in creating a happy and formative summer experience for our students.  

We are looking for someone with experience of working with young people to join our team of staff working from the Outward Bound Trust Centre at Loch Eil, nr Fort William. All summer school students will spend three days at the Centre and you will be part of a small pastoral team overseeing the rotation of students, and supporting and encouraging students to embrace the varied programme of outdoor activities on offer. 

Applicants should have experience of looking after young people in an educational, boarding or summer school environment. Experience of working in an outdoor education environment is desirable. 

Summer School operates two courses, and we are looking for a member of staff to cover the full duration.  2024 dates, including mandatory induction, are: 

Tues 2nd July – Mon 5th August 

Residential position with full board.  Competitive Salary.

Qualifications
• A teaching or pastoral qualification allowing for, for example, membership of GTCS, NMC or SSSC
• Recognised First Aid qualification
• A full, clean driving licence
Skills
• Pastoral experience looking after young people in an educational/boarding/summer school environment.
• High level of computer literacy • Experience working in an Outdoor Education environment or setting
• Strong and proven organisational skills
