COMPUTING TEACHER

Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We run a prestigious and well-established Summer School for children aged 8-16 from approximately 40 nationalities. Each year we create a vibrant international community where our staff play a critical role in creating a happy and formative summer experience for our students.  

We are looking for an experienced and creative teacher of computing.  You will work with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging lessons which enable students to have an enriching and enjoyable summer study option.  You will have relevant teaching experience and be able to inspire by using a student-centred learning approach and using up to date resources. You will complete reports on the students and be involved in some excursions and activities.

2024 dates, including mandatory induction are: 

Course 2: Wednesday 10th July – Mon 5th August

Residential with full board.  Competitive Salary based on experience.

Qualifications
• First degree in computer science or a relevant degree
• P.G.C.E or equivalent qualification
• Proficient level of English
• Recognised First Aid qualification
• A full, clean driving licence

Skills
• Experience teaching school age children for at least 1 year
• High level of computer literacy
• Subject knowledge to teach Computer Science
• Ability to organise and teach groups of students at all levels of ability
• Experience preparing teaching materials • Experience of working in other Summer Schools
• Ability to work with teachers across the curriculum
