We are looking for a dedicated and qualified Best Interests Assessor (BIAs) to join our dynamic team. 

The DOLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) team at Staffordshire County Council operates in a fast-paced environment, responding to requests for DOLS authorisations from care homes and hospitals. Based in Stafford, our team plays a crucial role in ensuring that individuals' rights are protected across the county.

Main Responsibilities

As a Best Interests Assessor within the DOLS team of Adult Social Work and Safeguarding, you'll have the chance to further develop your skills and knowledge while ensuring that people throughout Staffordshire have access to the statutory safeguards they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing Best Interests Assessments with accuracy and compassion
  • Undertaking triage and duty BIA functions
  • Authorising DOLS applications to safeguard individuals' rights
The Ideal Candidate

We're seeking committed and self-motivated BIAs who can demonstrate a track record of well-established practice in succinct and reliable assessment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across the county are essential.
