Overview of role purpose:

Ensure teams behaviours are aligned to our business values.

Continuously improve operational performance in relation to cost control and quality.

People – To create a well trained, capable team that exhibits the right values with high levels of engagement.

Food Safety & Quality – To ensure follow all technical procedures and maintain a focus on constantly improving the quality and consistency of our dishes.

Safety – maintain a safe & legally compliant working environment, ensuring that staff are not only effectively trained but understand the importance of looking after each other.  

Service level – Ensure that resources are aligned to forecasted sales volume and service levels remain above 99%

Performance – ensure targeted operational performance measures are met and that improvement plans exist to constantly raise standards of delivery.

Main Responsibilities

People

  • To continuously develop the knowledge and capability of the team leaders
  • Ensure right skills are available to deliver right quality, safety and minimum cost
  • Develop GPTW improvement plans through the delivery of great communication and positive interaction.
  • To ensure that all people policies are followed fairly, consistently and in a timely manner
  • Ensure that team briefs and other communications are delivered consistently and effectively, in a timely manner
  • Ensure regular1 to 1’s with direct reports to review performance against KPIs including Marco, WMH and Power BI to ensure appropriate support and opportunities are available to enable them to perform their roles effectively.

Safety & Environment

  • Role model with right safety behaviour
  • Educate and involve leaders and their teams to eliminate safety hazards, improve team morale and engage with safety audits to minimize known risks
  • Regularly carry out HSE walks with team members to improve awareness and ensure standards are maintained
  • Implement and run a shift safety forum and develop improvement plans based around team members concerns and accident / near miss trend data 
  • Ensure weekly, monthly audits are completed and corrective actions are in place
  • Focus team activity around the elimination of food waste, ensuring appropriate monitoring  / segregation of waste stream.
  • Ensure that risk assessments / SOPs are up to date, trained out and consistently adhered to by the team.

Quality

  • Standards of quality, keycard, GMP and food safety are understood and maintained on daily basis
  • All non-conformances are investigated and RCA completed to ensure permanent resolution
  • Attend taste panels, support TAYGO and drive actions to improve quality
  • Drive down customer complaints through effective improvement plans and team focus

Delivery and operational performance

  • Deliver the daily plan efficiently
  • To ensure budgeted performance targets are delivered and KPI’s are hit on a consistent basis.
  • To drive continuous improvement through the TL structure, regularly monitoring & maintaining performance improvement plans.
  • Ensure team rotas, TMS system, absence and holidays in line with company policy and in a timely manner.
  • Attend SIC and implement actions arising to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure that material yields and are measured effectively and Marco , BI and WMH data is used as part of teams improvement plans
  • Shift reports and other paperwork completed at the end of each shift or as required and in a timely manner
  • All downtime recorded appropriately, analysed and with support of engineering and CI team plans created to improve operational performance
  • All team leaders to be trained and signed off against the CI skills Matrix
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience of managing Teams
  • Experience in Production/Manufacturing - Food diserable
  • Highly motivated and interested in building high performing teams.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate.
  • High level Safety and Quality focus
  • Excellent communication skills at all level

Skills

  • An excellent understanding of Health and Food Safety
  • Previous experience of working in food production
  • Ability to work precisely with good analytical skills
  • Ability to work, engage and communicate effectively
  • Good level of IT skills

General

  • Work within the company’s rules and policies, introducing procedures where appropriate in conjunction with technical documentation requirements.
  • Adhere to the health and safety policy of the company and work within its guidelines to ensure personal safety of staff at all times.
