A key administrative opportunity has come up within our Core Support and Improvement Adult Social Care and Safeguarding Business Support Team.

Our team:

Business Support is key to the success of our Adult Social Care and Safeguarding Services because our Business Support teams are there, making sure things run smoothly, so that our frontline colleagues can deliver our services out in the community.  All that work in the background doesn’t just happen, it takes dedicated colleagues, taking pride in their work and seeing a purpose in the work they are doing.

Supporting our Adult Social Care operational teams across a range of services including Strategic Management, Safeguarding, First Contact, and Learning Disabilities, the primary aim of these roles is to provide dedicated administrative support working closely with our Operational Team Managers and our Social Work staff, enabling them to concentrate on the people who need our support.

Everything we do in Business Support, will have a positive impact on people across Staffordshire.

Main Responsibilities

The role will focus on providing a range of core administrative tasks to support practitioners and you will be a first point of contact for enquiries. You will use departmental databases and systems and the full range of Microsoft packages as part of your daily administrative work.

The main duties will include:

  • Maintaining, monitoring and updating ICT systems including the input and retrieval of data to support reporting and performance
  • Producing high level, accurate documents
  • Minute taking at meetings as and when required
  • Varied administrative and customer care duties
The Ideal Candidate

Working in Business Support requires teamwork, good organisational skills and a good level of competency using IT systems.

You’ll also need:

  • Good communication skills because you’ll interact with lots of people across the organisation and externally through phone, in person and email
  • A flexible approach to work as sometimes things can change, and so you’ll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly
  • A passion to always give the best service

If you’re unsure whether your experience or skills are suitable please get in touch with the recruiting manager louise.kelsall@staffordshire.gov.uk (01785 356832) and we can give you a bit more information.

The role will be part of the Business Support Service so there may be a requirement to work from other offices, when required. We are currently working both from the office and remotely and it is anticipated that this will continue.
