Job Title- Registered Manager

Location- Dewsbury

Salary- Up to £50,000 DOE

Contract type- Permanent

Working hours- 40hrs Per week

Inspire provide residential care and support to children and young people between the ages of 3-18 years with a range of needs, such as learning difficulties, complex health needs, physical disability, attachment disorders and life-limiting conditions. We hold the belief that no child should be disadvantaged by their medical conditions and that all our children are an integral part of the wider community.

We offer our young people life affirming opportunities to participate in activities, celebrations, life events ,education, family contact and their own care planning. The average length of stay is currently 8 years and therefore continuity and a sense of belonging are important for our children.

About the Service
 

Our home is a cozy nest, welcoming up to 5 children with unique needs and talents. We take pride in our "Good" rating from Ofsted, a testament to our commitment to creating a safe and joyful space for everyone.

Each child in our care communicates and learns in their own special way. From using picture boards to Smartbox devices or Makaton, we embrace diverse methods of communication. Discovering new ways to play and learn together is what we love most.

From painting pictures to playing games and exploring new ideas, every day here is filled with fun and laughter. Our home is a big family, where each member is cherished and treated with love and compassion. Our mission is to ensure every child feels happy, secure, and supported, regardless of the challenges they may face.

 

In your new role you will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, including staffing, care plans, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and motivate a team of care staff to deliver high-quality care and support tailored to each child's needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the home provides a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where our children can learn and grow.
  • Implement and monitor policies and procedures to safeguard the well-being of our Children and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and facilities to ensure the effective running of the home.
  • Attend to practical matters in relation to our Children & Young People which may include all aspects of personal care and upkeep of personal equipment
  • Establish positive relationships with young people and always offering them nurturing unconditional and positive delivery of care 
  • Meet the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural and educational needs of young people 
  • Undertake child specific training such as Peg feeding, specific health needs and medication competencies including rescue medication 
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating appropriate pro-social ways of managing behaviours associated with diagnosis i.e. autism 

 

You will ideally have:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar setting, ideally with children or young people with learning disabilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A compassionate and child-centered approach, with a commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in children's residential care.
